The VIII Olympic Winter Games commence in Squaw Valley, California in February 1960. The small town - with no mayor and a ski resort with just one chair-lift - was selected over favorite Innsbruck by a narrow 32 to 30 vote. The ‘60 Games mark many notable achievements in Olympic history including the first to be held in the Western United States, the first to be televised, and the first time computers are used to tabulate results.
Our 02/60 Trail Boot captures the simplistic stylings and functional ideals of the boots worn in the Squaw Valley era. Uppers are made of a textured full grain leather nourished with waxes or a rich pull-up leather infused with oils. Moccasin stitch and 360 degree welt stitch are handsewn with a heavy, waxed thread. Laces are oil stuffed rawhide leather. Flat eyelets are brushed silver or antique nickel. Superior comfort footbed is leather lined. Features a sueded leather heel counter to secure fit. Made by our patented SeaVulc Natural Rubber manufacturing process that allows a casual shoe to be as comfortable as a sneaker. Natural Rubber is softer and more elastic resulting in superior cushioning, reduced weight, increased flexibility, and maximum slip resistance.
