## History

SeaVees launched in 1964 as a product of BFGoodrich, the tire company that used leftover rubber to make shoes. SeaVees became one of the first brands to pioneer sneakers as casual, everyday footwear. The brand was later sold to Converse and remained in production until the early 1970s. In 2005, vintage collector Steven Tiller discovered an original deadstock pair from the 1960s in a Tokyo secondhand shop. He revived the brand in 2008, reimagining classic casual styles with modern materials and elevated designs. In 2025, SeaVees celebrated 20 years since this chance discovery and 60 years since the brand's original debut. SeaVees also partnered with BFGoodrich for a limited-edition collaboration honoring their shared heritage.
