Inventory Planner

Pentland is a family run business based in the UK and the name behind many well loved footwear and active brands around the world. Pentland acts as a strategic partner for SeaVees. 

SeaVees and Pentland are poised to begin a period of exponential growth and we are looking for a skilled inventory planner to join the team.

Role overview:

This role will support the Operations team by managing the flow levels of footwear inventory, working with key stakeholders across the organization to ensure we maintain optimal stock levels in the right locations, in order to deliver against our revenue objectives. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Create accurate monthly forecasts and buys based on Brand and Sales input
  • Review purchase orders against forecast to ensure accurate inventory flow and safety stock
  • Monitor inventory flow to ensure company targets are being met
  • Balance inventory as needed for wholesale and e-commerce channels
  • Track stock and out of stock products for ordering deficiencies and warehouse capacity
  • Generate monthly buys and raise pos to the factory
  • Generate weekly and monthly statistical forecast reports for regular meetings
  • Generate weekly and monthly reports on best sellers and slow sellers
  • Continuous correspondence and analysis with partner suppliers regarding capacity targets against agreed production, lead times/on time shipping and production schedule delays/changes
  • Work with sales and merchandising to communicate supplier lead time, supplier capacity, and production schedule changes
  • Oversees supplier booking schedules to ensure proper container flow to multiple distribution centers to minimize congestion of unloading containers and to avoid additional freight charges
  • Manage inbound receiving with the 3PL
  • Maintain focus on key performance metrics to achieve department and company objectives
  • Maintain and update department SOPs as needed

    • Degree in Accounting, Economics, Business Mgmt. or related field with 2-3 years' experience strongly preferred
    • Proficient in MS Excel, experience with ERP systems preferred
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with an entrepreneurial mindset
