Our 09/66 Huarache is inspired by adventurous spirit of the Baja Surf Club members. Low profile cup-sole constructed. Uppers are hand-woven of gutsy pull-up leather - deconstructed for a relaxed execution. Collars and heel counters are lined with sueded leather to secure fit. Full length footbed is leather lined. Round laces have a waved finish. Textured, long-wearing rubber outsole offers maximum flexibility.
The first Baja Surf Club Invitational is held at San Miguel, Mexico in September 1966. Road tripping Southern California surfers had to wear shoes - low profile sneakers and local cottage-made huaraches - to deal with pesky sea urchins in the pre-surf booty days.
