The Details

Inspired by all purpose sporting footwear of the sixties, this season's edition of the Army Issue Sneaker features unlined soft burnished leather uppers, classic lace-to-toe design with toe cap, signature flat eyelets and nylon laces. The superior custom contoured footbed provides all-day comfort and SeaVees traditional calendar outsole is made with genuine gum rubber for a long-lasting, elastic result.

The Origin

In August 1961, Camp Irwin, an Armored Combat Training Area located in the Mojave Desert in San Bernardino County, California, is designated a permanent installation and renamed Fort Irwin. During the Vietnam buildup, many artillery and engineer units will train and deploy from Fort Irwin, the Army’s premier training center.
