SeaVees' Earth Month 2020

Earth Month: The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.

In honor of Giving Tuesday, we want to highlight our Earth Month partners and the work that they do. If you’d like to donate to Algalita please click here. If you’d like to donate to Santa Barbara Channel Keeper, please click here. If you’d like to donate to SeaTrees, please click here.

At SeaVees, we love Earth Month. Seriously. Taking action to protect our planet and reduce our environmental impact is a big part of everything we do. Through 1% For the Planet, we donate 1% of our total revenue each year to environmental causes and work with collaborative partners on sustainable, planet-friendly sneakers like our Legend SeaChange Collection, Mens Legend CIMWI, and Women’s Legend CIMWI Collection. We feel it is our responsibility to preserve the planet we know and love for generations to come. It matters that what we do today is in line with our vision for tomorrow.

That being said, Earth Month activities looked very different this year. The world was sidelined last month by the COVID-19 pandemic and the focus turned to staying safe and staying indoors. From our homes, our kitchens, and our living rooms, we had to figure out how best to show up for our planet while keeping each other safe and healthy. With this in mind, we decided to carry on with our Earth Month initiatives in any way we could.

So here’s what we did:

We rounded up some amazing environmentally focused non-profit partners and donated $5 from every purchase made in the month of April to their efforts.

And here's what they did:

Algalita
Donations to Algalita allowed them to design and maintain programs for a new generation of critical thinkers who have dedicated themselves to the powerful movement to end plastic pollution.

Santa Barbara Channel Keeper
Donations to Santa Barbara Channel Keeper helped to advance single-use plastic reduction policies, provide hands-on environmental science education to local youth, and monitor water quality in creeks and beaches.

SeaTrees
Donations to SeaTrees helped to fund the planting and protection of critical coastal ecosystems around the world, including endangered kelp forests off the California coast and mangrove forests in the West Papua Region of Indonesia.

Even though Earth Month is over, our environmental initiatives are not. Check out our SeaChange Collection to view our whole selection of recycled shoes. All year long proceeds from both environmentally-friendly sneaker collections go towards non-profits who fight for our planet each and every day through action and education.
